The third round table of Invest in the Western Balkans, and maybe the last, took place in Vienna, Austria on June 16th, 2009. This event, organized by the World Bank Group, FIAS and Vienna Chamber of Commerce aimed at introducing Austrian investors to the renewable energy sector in Albania and surrounding countries.
Albinvest took investors through all the phases of development of the renewable energy sector in Albania; pointing out the progress made in drafting the legislation in accordance with European standards. Also, Austrian investors were presented with the potential in the renewable energy sector in Albania, respectively in Wind Energy, Solar energy and Hydro Power.
The interest of foreign investors in Albania has grown rapidly in the last years, as many investors are recognizing the pure and unexploited potential in Albania. The program Invest in the Western Balkans has played a great role and has contributed greatly to this fact.
Hopefully, one last roundtable will be held in Greece to bring this valuable program to an end.
