The second international conference on Foreign Investments in Albania took place from 2-5 November, 2009 in Tirana International Hotel.
For the second time this conferemce brought together in Tirana important investors, representatives of the Albanian government and business executives who evaluated the new investment opportunies that Albania offers today.
This conference was an initiative the Islamic Development Bank Group and the Albanian Ministry for Economy, Trade and Energy and was organised by the Islamic Development Bank Group Business Forum with the support of Albinvest.
Main objectives of this conference were:
- To reflect the cliamte for foreign investments in Albania
- Present concrete investment opportunities, especially in infrastructure
- To present the energy sector (european strategy for the enrgy sector in the region)
- Support and development of investment projects in Albania
The above mentioned was realised during the conference days due to the large presence of not only the representatives of the organisators of this event, representatives of ministries and foreign and Albanian investors operating in Albania but also foreign companies partivcipating for the first time in this conference. 120 representatives of foreign companies and 200 representatives of domestic companies were assisted the conference.
During the different sessions of this conference the priority sectors like energy, infrastructure, agriculture, real estate, minerals, banking system and tourism were presented: the achievements in these sectors, future projects, invitation to partnership between Albanian and foreign companies in accoordance to the the fiscal reforms aiming to reduce the gray economy and to attract foreign investments in Albania.
Representatives for foreign and do;estic companies could relate with each other and share their experiences and talk about the opportunities offered by Albania, the facilities for business development and the eventual future cooperation.
