Albinvest participated at the Draft Familiarization Program for the IDB Members on the Turkish Model of Private Sector Operated Industrial Zones, held in Turkey, from 19 to 23 October 2009.

The Capacity Building Program was conducted by the Development Bank Group’s; Investment Promotion Technical assistance Program (ITAP) in association with the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB).

The participants involved were senior staff working in an Investment Promotion Agency or the official entity in charge of investment promotion. All from Muslim countries like Afghanistan, Algeria, Indonesia, Chad, Jordan, Iran, Uganda, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, etc,.

The objective of the participation was studying  the model of Private Sector Operated Industrial Zones, special laws and regulations, management, challenges and constrains of private sector operated industrial zones and to learn the best-practices of Industrial Zones in attracting Local and Foreign Direct Investment in Turkey.

The third round table of Invest in the Western Balkans, and maybe the last, took place in Vienna, Austria on June 16th, 2009. This event, organized by the World Bank Group, FIAS and Vienna Chamber of Commerce aimed at introducing Austrian investors to the renewable energy sector in Albania and surrounding countries.

Albinvest staff on June 12th, 2009 participated at The International Conference “Business on the Balkan” which was organized by ITD Hungary, the “Figyelo” (one of the biggest economic weekly magazines) and the Centre for Security and Defence Studies Public Benefit Foundation (CSDS).
